As part of the Templeton Freedom Award Prize Program, Atlas Network's Regional Liberty Awards recognize think tanks that have made significant contributions to the understanding of liberty around the globe.
About the Awards
The Regional Liberty Awards are administered through the Templeton Freedom Award Prize Program, which distributes $410,000 in prizes each year supported by the Templeton Religion Trust. Winners are honored at Regional Liberty Forums held across five continents.
All organizations that complete the full Templeton Freedom Award application are automatically considered for both regional and Templeton awards.
Eligibility & Criteria
Judges prioritize projects with demonstrable and measurable impact achieved within the last two years. Focus areas include:
- Free enterprise and individual liberty
- Prosperity-encouraging policies
- Innovative approaches to advancing freedom
Regional Categories
Awards are given in six regional categories:
- Africa
- Asia
- Europe
- Latin America
- Middle East & North Africa
- North America
Prize & Recognition
Regional winners and finalists receive up to $20,000 in prizes per region. Winners are honored at Regional Liberty Forums across five continents.

All applicants who complete the full Templeton Freedom Award application are automatically considered for Regional Liberty Awards as well.
